Welcome to Christopher’s Circle
Gabriel House of Care’s Young Professionals Advisory Board
Christopher’s Circle is a growing group of young, philanthropic professionals with a passion for serving others. Members participate through volunteering, fundraising and social activities.
- Our activities include:
- Volunteering at the House and at events
- Fall and Spring Happy Hour Fundraisers
- Quarterly participation in the Chef’s Night In Dinner Program
Becoming involved is a great way to meet other young professionals dedicated to community service, while touching the lives of those who are going through organ transplants and cancer treatment.
For more information about how to join Christopher’s Circle, please contact Katie Smith, Volunteer Coordinator, at firstname.lastname@example.org or (904) 821-8995, ext. 104.
Christopher Mark Gregory
Christopher’s Circle is named in honor of Christopher Mark Gregory, a nineteen year- old, student at Loyola University New Orleans who suffered a fatal brain aneurysm. He was a generous young man who valued friendship, family, loyalty and his faith in God. Christopher believed there was no greater privilege in life than to serve others and that is what he did. He was always the first one there to lend a helping hand no matter what someone needed.
Through his decision to be a registered organ donor, he was able to save the lives of five people when he suddenly passed away. One of them was Jorge Bacardi, who received Christopher’s lungs. After receiving his transplant, Jorge and his wife Leslie, wanted to give back to honor their organ donor so they provided the leadership gift to build Gabriel House of Care. The house is named in honor of Christopher, whom Jorge, prior to learning his donor’s true identity, referred to as “Gabriel” after the Archangel.
